Our central nervous system, abbreviated as CNS, (Brain Neuroendocrinology) and our hormones (Endocrinology) control the production and breakdown of protein, fat and sugar, vitamins and minerals, and our metabolism. Short-term metabolic disorders influence our well-being, our gut health (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), our sleeping habits, our blood pressure, and the regulation of our weight. In the long term, this can lead to diseases affecting sugar and fat metabolism (Diabetes), bone metabolism (Osteoporosis), or the cardiovascular system (Internal Medicine). When detected early (PDMP), these dysfunctions can be treated successfully.
